Dollar General has launched a major partnership with Uber Eats, now offering on-demand and scheduled delivery from more than 14,000 Dollar General and pOpshelf locations across the U.S., beginning August 8, 2025.
What Customers Can Order
Through this collaboration, shoppers can access a wide range of items—from groceries and beverages to personal care, over-the-counter medications, cleaning and paper goods, lawn and garden supplies, and back-to-school products—via the Uber Eats app.

Launch Promotion
To celebrate the rollout, Uber Eats is offering a one-time 40% discount on orders of $20 or more (maximum discount: $10) through September 30, 2025, with promo code 40GENERAL. Uber One members additionally receive free delivery on eligible orders and other exclusive perks.
Strategic Context
This partnership marks a continued push by Dollar General to bolster its digital presence and delivery infrastructure.
Earlier in 2025, the retailer began working with DoorDash, covering approximately 16,000 stores, and piloted same-day delivery in 400 locations, with plans to scale up to 10,000 stores by year-end.
Dollar General’s Chief Marketing Officer, Tony Rogers, said, “Our customers will enjoy even greater convenience … accessing everything from food to essential household items, saving them valuable time and money.”
Analysts note that this move helps Dollar General defend its valuable rural footprint in the face of intensifying fast-delivery expansion by competitors such as Amazon.
Operational Backdrop
As it scales up its digital offerings, Dollar General is also streamlining. The retailer trimmed inventory by cutting 1,000 SKUs last year, with additional reductions underway, and recently celebrated the opening of its 20,000th store. In its latest quarter, the company reported a 5.3% year-over-year increase in net sales to $10.4 billion and an 8% rise in net income to $392 million.
