Requirements: SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Must be knowledgeable in the operation of a Housekeeping Activity. Must have experience in and thorough knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning materials, and equipment. Must have knowledge of proper care and maintenance of carpets and furniture. Ability to handle and control heavy powered equipment. Advanced knowledge of proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions and ability to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces. Detailed knowledge of proper procedures to store chemicals and equipment and safely perform work. Ability to read and understand directions on labels and printed instructions. Basic skills in business administration, scheduling, accounting, policies and performance standards. Skill to supervise employees in the accomplishment of work. Strong ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. RESPONSIBILITY: Works independently on daily routine schedule following established procedures and policies. Must use judgment in dealing with supervisory problems. May consult with a higher-level supervisor on non-routine issues. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires constant standing, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting of objects. Climbs ladders and operates industrial equipment. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is normally performed indoors under normal conditions; however, outdoor work is performed, when required, in all kinds of weather. Exposed to vibration from heavy equipment, strong odors and skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions.
